Welcome Letter

To our families, our future Family Stewards, and the community gathering around this vision - Welcome.

If you have found your way here, something in you already understands that life was never meant to be navigated alone.

Somewhere along the way, many of us felt it:  the quiet absence of guidance, the loss of ceremony, the missing sense of being held through life’s most meaningful transitions. Birth became clinical. Parenting became isolating. Coming of age, aging, and even grief were left without the community they once belonged to.

And still, something in us remembers.

We remember that every birth is a ceremony.
We remember that becoming a parent is a rite of passage.
We remember that families were always meant to be supported by community.

The Family Stewardship Centre was born from that remembering.

We are here to restore what was never meant to be lost.

We are here to train and mobilize a new profession of Family Stewards — people who walk alongside individuals and families through life’s thresholds with care, clarity, and responsibility. Through education, relational support, ceremony, and community building, we are reweaving the support systems that help families not only survive, but truly thrive across generations.

This work is rooted in a simple, powerful understanding:

We are not only the products of our circumstances.
We are also the consequences of our actions.

And together, we have the opportunity to become good ancestors.

At the centre of this work are the thresholds we all move through:

Birthing in ceremony.
Becoming children.
Coming of age.
Becoming parents.
Midlife transitions.
Becoming grandparents.
Becoming ancestors.

Each of these moments asks something of us. Identity Shifts. Responsibilities Change. Purpose unfolds.
Each of these moments deserves preparation, support, and community.

This space, this Centre, this movement,  is for those who feel called to meet those moments with intention.

It is for the parents who know they were never meant to do this alone.
It is for the helpers, the guides, the future Family Stewards who feel a responsibility to walk with others.
It is for the communities ready to rebuild the village in a way that is rooted in dignity, relationship, and shared care.

Whether you are here to learn, to receive support, to contribute your gifts, or simply to witness what is unfolding — you are part of this.

We are building something together that will outlive us.

A place where families are prepared, supported, and celebrated.
A place where responsibility and care move together.
A place where the next generations inherit not disconnection, but belonging.

This is just the beginning.

And we are so glad you are at the centre of it.

Welcome to our village. We need each and every single one of you.

All my relations,

Jace Poirier Lacerte
Founder and Vision Keeper, the Family Stewardship Centre
